Day 7, 8 & 9: 20 day weight loss challenge

Small steps in the right direction

Hello fellow Protagonists,

Day 6 weight was 116.6 kg (18st 5lb)

I have grouped these 3 days together because they were pretty much business as usual for the most part.

I have been eating eggs for breakfast now for 9 days straight and sometimes we can start thinking that certain meals feel repetitive and boring.

The first challenge to this thought is if we are really focusing on swapping our meal choices or just trying to justify eating something like cereal or toast instead.

I can think of periods of time where I have eaten the same cereal for a month and not complained once. I wonder if you can think of something similar as well? We are creatures of habit after all.

I may introduce some cereal and toast in moderation after the 20 day challenge but for now I am not interested.

Eggs have been my personal choice for breakfast because I want to have a protein heavy meal in the morning both for my gym training but also because meals focused around protein should help keep hunger away until lunch.

On days where I used to eat cereal before work at around 6:30am, I would feel hungry again by 10:00. Eggs keep hunger away until at least 12:00. This makes the whole process far more comfortable.

Day 7, 8 & 9 have shown steady consistent steps in the right direction.

Day 7 was 116.6 kg (18st 5lb)

Day 8 was 116.5 kg (18st 4lb) just!

Day 9 was 116.3 kg (18st 4lb)

Sometimes when the body shock of a change of diet is over and the faster weight drops start to transfer into more steady decreases, we just need to realise that each 0.1 kg is a step in the right direction.

Even if this is all that happens for the final 11 days I would still be looking at an extra 1.1 kg off by the end of this little experiment and I would be happy with this.

We are also well past the week mark now and the first full week (day 8) had a 1.7 kg drop in weight. This may not sound like much and we can sometimes fall into thinking about this negatively but remember this is only a week.

Google tells me that 1.7 kg is the average weight of a dinner plate, how fitting!
